Here are a selection of just some of the things that can be done with a professionally drafted, registered Lasting Power of Attorney. This is not an exhaustive list, but a sample of some practical actions and decisions that can be taken if you lose your faculties. Whether it be to make life easier for you if you become immobile, or lose interest in some of the regular tasks that you currently undertake or because you suffer an unexpected illness or have an accident resulting in a loss of your physical or mental faculties.
I am confident that all registered LPA's will be used at least once in the future either because it makes life easier and is more practical than struggling alone or because an accident or illness dictate the need for others to intervene and act in your best interests. An LPA to me is a simple, guaranteed insurance policy for an uncertain future.
